We Keep on Learning!

The kids have been working very hard learning new material.  We are working with ordinal numbers, missing addends,  and adding 3 numerals in math.  In reading we are working on our comprehension, vocabulary and word attack skills.  We are also working on using our manners like saying please, thank you and excuse me. The children are very good hard working young people and I am very proud of them.

First 9 Weeks!

Hello!  I can hardly believe we are coming to the close of our 1st nine weeks.  Wow!  This year is zooming by!  The kids are working so hard.  There are so many things they are learning.  We are really working on sentence writing, using capitals, punctuation, and making sense.  The kids are also working on learning their math facts, some will soon be on subtraction. 
This next week is our Halloween party on Thursday, since there is no school on Friday.

Hello!

It is Monday again!!  I just wanted to remind you that we have our Parent Meeting on Tuesday, September 14,  2010 at 6:00.  It will be about a half and hour long.  I hope to see you here. :)

2A Is Learning A Lot

The 2A students are learning so much.  This week in math they learned about Ven Diagrams and counting by 2's, 5's and 10's.  The students are really working on their manners and saying please and thank you, excuse me and so on.  Some of the kids are working on not socializing so much with their neighbors.  They are showing such an improvement.  Keep up all the good work kids.

It is Friday again.  Wow!  We have 2 weeks of school in. 
The children have their flashcards and should know which ones to study and which ones to hold back.  They should practice their flashcards every night.  We are also learning about different types of sentences such as, statements, questions, exclamations, and commands.

As you can see I figured out, with some much needed help, how to put pictures on our blog.
 
The students are working on their first story they are writing in second grade,  "Monkey See, Monkey Do!"  They are writing and using their whisper phones to check their work.

We Are Working Hard

Today is Tuesday, August 31, 2010.  September will be upon us in a matter of hours.  Wow!  That is hard to believe.  The students and I have been working on graphs, counting by 2's, 5's and 10's, and place value.  We are also working on vowel sounds and word attack skills and oral reading skills.  We are working hard and having fun.  Now that I have gotten all the forms back I can start posting pictures.  Thanks parents for all you do:)

Thursday - 2 Hour Delay

Today we had our first 2 hour delay.  We had a great day.  In math class today the kids worked n comparing the length of their first name to their last.  In phonics we worked on beginning sounds of words.
We have our first spelling test tomorrow!!!!!

First Day of School

We had a great first day.  I am impressed with how many good listeners there are in here.
I am really looking forward to working with them.  They all seem so eager to get to work.
I sent home a  lot of forms for you parents to fill out, so have fun with your homework!

Welcome Back to School

Hello All,
Welcome back to school and Welcome to my blog!  I am so excited to be back.  I do not know what you did this summer, but I took a computer class.  One thing I learned was how to create and use a blog. I hope to use this blog to keep you more aware of what is going on in our classroom. This is the first time I have ever blogged, so bare with me.
